Africa by David Diop

                                   

   What the literature is saying about Africa is that it's a country with much strength. It also refers to Africa as a tree, a country that is continuosly growing and that grows with strength as in doing so. Africa is proud of their ancestry, they are a country that has struggled to recieve freedom. But until this day they, have not achieved to receive freedom a 100%. In places children are still sold as slaves.

 

Night; By: Elie Weisel (Germany)

 

                   The book "Night" is a memoir about Elie's horrifying experience during the Holocaust. The book in general is a difficult story to read. Throughtout the book he describes the traumatizing things that he went through and that he sadly had to witness.  Elie shares his experience of the Holocaust. He shared his thoughts and everything he saw around him.He mentioned the great will he had to keep his father alive, while also struggling himself to survive. As time passed he lost his faith in God.

The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

The story about the Handomsest drowned man is about a man who washes up to the sea. He is found by children while they were playing. The children became curious and decided to play with the dead body. Later then men from the village take him back into town. The women clean him up and dress him. While doing so they begin to compare him to the men from their village and name his "Esteban." The men go to near by villages and see if they the dead body was from a family member, but it wasn't. Then the women decide to have a funeral for him.

I would want my family and friends to cremate me. I would rather them have me cremated because I have always dreamed that then the insect may get coffin. I also think it would be less fancy, something simple such as i consider myself.

    Personally to me ethnicity is more important because I am proud to be Mexican even though I was born in The United States. I also think that because throughout my whole childhood I was taught to speak Spanish and celebrate the Mexican customs which i love. Also because I feel proud of what Mexico as a country has accomplished.
                                                                            

Canada is a place with many different type of climates. The magority of the land in Canada is covered in snow which means that it is a place with very cold temperature. It is also a place with a wide range of topography such as beautiful mountains and even some nice green landcapes.

                         The story Borders was about a little canadian boy and his mom. They were traveling by car to go see the little boy's sister in the United States which meant that they had to cross the United States border. When they were at the border an officer asked the mother if she was canadian and she kept on saying that she was blackfoot and the officers said..Canadian?, but she refused to say she was Canadian. The officers then were growing impatient. The boy knew that he could have just told the officeres that they were Canadian but he thought that his mother might have gotten mad at him for saying he was Canadian.

No Dogs Bark by Juan Rulfo

The type of parent  I hope to be is a supportive and comprehensive one, so that my children will have sufficient trust in me and be able to tell me their problems. Someone that gives their children good advice so when they grow up and move on into the "real world" they are able to make their own wise decisions and tell them that life is not always perfect, that there will  always be an obstacle in their way but they have to learn to go through it. I will deal with my teenager by giving them examples of other people's lives and how the bad decisions they decide to make will at the end only effect him/her. If my children misbehave I plan to become a stricter parent which would mean that i would loose the trust in them and I take certain privileges away. I believe i would be similar to Ignacio's father because i can imagine what he was feeling and going through as a parent with his son. He had high expectations from his son and even though he was never the son he expected to have he loved him no matter what.

Mexico is a country with a huge diversity of topography and climate. But according to the literature it seems that Mexico is all a dry desert. But it is also a country that has a moderate temperature throughout the year. Depending on where you go you can see dry deserts,mountains,beaches and beautiful green landscapes. It also is a country with very hot bright sunny days, when you don't even want to go outside because the temperature is unbearable.
